Esperienza fantastica: MONT Trekking made my trip to the Dolomites so enjoyable! Did not have to worry about anything. Lodgings included food at every rifugio and hotel before and after the hiking. I reserved a spot for a solo-guided, 9-day, hut-to-hut rifugio hike on the Alta Via 1 trail. I would recommend anyone to reserve through Mont Trekking. Made everything a breeze!

Esperienza fantastica: My wife and I recently utilized MONT Trekking for our 5-day, 4-night trek from Seiser Alm to Rosengarten. We really liked the flexibility they offered for their treks from duration of the trek, its difficulty, region, accommodations, transportation, etc. They were very accessible and accommodating to us before the trip. Once the trek was decided on, they provided us with detailed day-to-day information about our trek, such as optimal places to stop for lunch, extra hikes, points of interest, distance and elevation gain/loss. The reservations they made for us at the various refugios along the trek would have been very difficult for us to make ourselves, so just that in itself was an incredible service. Before we actually began our trek, MONT Trekking provided us with paper maps of the areas we would be trekking as well as recommended mapping apps for us to utilize along the way and for them to monitor our progress if we so desired. We will definitely utilize their services when we travel to the Dolomites again. Our trip and experience overall was incredible!

Esperienza fantastica: Mont Trekking provides both guided and self-guided hikes in the Dolomites and other ears. In 2025 I did a self-guided hike in Ortlers, a wonderful alternative to hiking the Dolomites, which I had done through Mont Trekking in 2023. The High Ortler Hiking Traverse in particular provides extraordinary views of glaciers, moraine fields, and knife-edge ridges, as well as alpine rivers, lakes and meadows. With multiple excursions over ridges of around 3000 m, the route provides vistas that seem to go on forever. The refugios chosen for the route provide themselves on providing really good food. The Stelvio National Park is much less frequented than the Dolomites, though summiting the Ortler Peak seems to be very popular, so the paths are more crowded towards the western end of the hike. As always, the Mont Trekking team provide excellent route descriptions, backed up by free access to online maps, as well as hard copy maps (a very important safety feature in case your cell phone were to die mid-route). My only regret was that we chose the 8 day (6 hiking days) option, instead of one of the longer routes. Once you get to the Ortlers, you won’t want to leave.

Even as a self-guided trek, everything was thoughtfully organized—Mont Trekking provided clear route maps and instructions, which allowed me to map our route turn by turn using the recommended apps. They also offered helpful information about terrain, weather, and points of interest. The preparation materials made navigating the trail easy and stress-free, and I always felt safe and confident knowing support was available if needed. Accommodations, alternate scenic routes, and rest stops were all excellent, and the equipment guidance ensured we were fully prepared for the journey. During the trek, due to an unexpected injury, we needed to arrange alternate transport. Esperienza fantastica: We had Mont Trekking organise our southern Alta Via 1 trek and it was all absolutely perfect. The provided materials were all really helpful for finding our way on the trail, and their tips for lunch stops were very helpful. We had zero issues out on the trail! We did decide to wrap up a day early and they made the process of booking an extra night at the hotel and getting picked up somewhere else completely painless. They even went to the effort of setting up the Garmin Messenger app so we could use our Garmin InReach should we run into any trouble. Cannot recommend them enough when booking a hiking trip on the other side of the world, it really removed all of the stress and anxiety of planning a big trip like this. Special shout out to Martina who fielded a lot of questions from me in the lead up to the trip!

Esperienza fantastica: We did a self-guided 5 day hike of the Alta Via 1. It was a challenging but amazing experience! My favorite part of the trail was from Cinque Torri to Lago di Coldai. Mont Trekking made the planning way easier than booking the huts yourself, and provided loads of helpful materials from day-by-day trail guides, packing list, transportation timetables, ect. They also booked us lovely hotels in the base camp locations before and after our hike. The communication was swift throughout the whole process - I would just recommend putting your booking request in early (before Thanksgiving for the following summer if possible), as the huts go fast! I’d also recommend taking your training seriously, as the days are long and taxing but so rewarding.

The accommodations they selected were wonderful, and their detailed daily hiking instructions were absolutely crucial for navigating the self-guided experience with confidence. Esperienza fantastica: We had an amazing six-day five night hiking trip in the spectacular Brenta Dolomites, with the hiking itinerary and lodging reservations flawlessly arranged by Mont Trekking. The hiking every day was wonderful, and all of the arrangements worked just as described in the extensive documentation, paper and phone-based maps supplied. Though the entire hike is self-guided, and we never met the Mont Trekking guides (though our point-person Martina was always responsive and helpful by email), the owners at the various lodging establishments were also knowledgeable and helpful, and clearly have a good and trusted partnership with Mont Trekking. It should be noted that the hiking is self-guided, and can be quite difficult in terms of distances and elevation changes, this can be tuned to your capability, it is helpful to be a fairly experienced hiker. We booked private rooms most nights, and the accommodation standard (lodging and two meals a day included) was of a much higher standard than we expected, more like chalets or hotels than refugios or huts. It was really nice to have hot showers and great meals, I guess it was not exactly the "hut-to-hut" experience we were expecting. Overall Mont Trekking is a great partner and they set up a trip we could never have coordinated on our own. Highly recommended.

Esperienza fantastica: We did the trek called "Hiking in the Dolomites of Cortina d'Ampezzo". This trip was amazing! Mont Trekking did a fantastic job planning, communicating and supporting our trek. The hike was gorgeous and covered so much of the area- we really feel so fortunate to have seen all there was offer in this spectacular area. Our self-guided hike was easy to follow with the maps Mont provided. The relief is definitely extreme and days are long so come prepared and you will love it! Recommend highly.

Esperienza fantastica: Very highly recommended. I booked a 5-day trek through the Dolomites for two people after reading the glowing reviews online. The experience was excellent throughout. First, the route (not a well-known one) was super fun and had a very good fit with our capabilities. Second, rifugios were significantly better than expected, ranging from proper, well managed mountain rifugios to others that should more aptly be called 4-star hotels. Finally, other matters such as materials (maps, itineraries, route descriptions) and transfers were all of high quality and timely. All was very expertly managed by Martina, who was transparent, organized and patient thorough our long interactions. Moreover, I had to cancel a separate trek and Martina dealt with the matter in a very professional way (the polar opposite of the travel agency trying to be difficult or bringing up the small print). I look forward to booking many more hikes with MONT in the beautiful Dolomites and elsewhere in the Alps.

When extraordinary weather came in they even got in touch with us for warning and found us a place to stay that night and handled the luggage transfer. They were always quick to respond to questions and the information they had was very helpful in preparing for the trip. I would use them again for sure.

Erika responded within 24 hours to my email queries and readily offered advice for sightseeing in the area. It was such an amazing hike and I was glad I used Mont Trekking, knowing that at the end of a long day a hut booking was secure. All the accomodations bookings were accurate and waiting. Transport taxis to and from track were on time and they texted us prior to. The tobacco printed maps were great, do take them with you as the distances in the itinerary aren't all accurate. The tobacco app let us down, we didn't end up using it. Also I would book a year in advance to get all private rooms next time. I'd recommend my friends to use Mont Trekking, they give great support and responded quickly. Thanks particularly to Erika, I'll be in touch to do the Mont Blanc next time.

Esperienza fantastica: Mont set up our 2024 hut-to-hut on the northern section of the Alta Via 1. It was seamless. I'm sure we could've emailed the rifugios ourselves, plotted the route on the Tobacco Maps, arranged transportation to and from the trail, but I'm glad they did it for us. Way less stress. And a great approach if you're new to this kind of thing - we were. Nice people, great communication, helpful. It's not free, but we were grateful for their wisdom, skill, and connections.

Esperienza fantastica: We booked a 5 day hut to hut trek for 5 people in the Pale di San Martino with Mont Trekking. Some bad weather moved into the area the day we were supposed to embark on our trek so Erika recommended delaying a day and rebooked all of our Refugios. She also helped with all of our transfers. Communication was excellent with very quick responses. Mont Trekking was very supportive and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to book another trek with them.

Esperienza fantastica: I couldn't recommend MONT Trekking more. They are responsive to all questions, seamless booking, amazing accommodation picking, and easy to follow self guided information. Beyond doing all the logistics we needed during the trek , they also helped us: 1) pick the perfect self guided trek for our needs, 2) provided transportation advice for flying into Italy and then how to get to our base location, 3) provided recommendations for additional treks based on our favorite parts of our first one.

Esperienza fantastica: The MONT Trekking 11 day, self-guided Alta Via 1 experience was nothing short of spectacular. The itinerary was very reasonable with a good mix of challenging and moderate day hiking …even for a 71 year old in good shape. Itinerary instructions and maps (especially the MobileGPS app) made each day easy to follow. Refugio arrangements generally met and often exceeded expectations (especially Muntagnoles, Tissi, Sennes, and Carestiato). Pre- and during-trip service was great. Martina answered all questions satisfactorily and promptly. We also had to adjust our itinerary due to snow weather forecasts and she made this happen hassle free for us. Base hotels were very nice with helpful staff, nice rooms and excellent breakfasts. I’m looking forward to another MONT Trekking adventure.

Esperienza fantastica: We went hiking in the Dolomites in August 2024 for our honeymoon, and we had an incredible time on the Alta Via 1, in large part thanks to MONT. They were able to secure bookings for us on the route fairly late in the game (when we had already looked and were unable to find anything ourselves) and linked the route together, along with getting us to and from our hotel in Cortina at the start and end of the trip. The trip package they provided was also really helpful. We used the packing list, route summaries, maps, and other documents extensively and they made our trip much more enjoyable. In particular the route summaries were very helpful, we referred to them constantly throughout the days, especially our longer days, to figure out how much of the route we had left. The hotels they booked us in were also perfect and they were very responsive. Overall we had a great experience with MONT and will definitely use them again on our next trip! Thank you MONT!

Esperienza fantastica: MONT Trekking has several great options for hut-to-hut trips in the Dolomites, and we chose the Val Gardena and Alpe di Siusi Hiking Tour ("5 day tour", 3 days of hiking), which was the shortest one and perfect for us and our 13-year old. We did self-guided, so MONT arranged all of the lodging, provided the maps (physical and on phone), and are available 24/7 for any emergencies during the tour. Dolomites were AMAZING and MONT was wonderful to work with.

They were always very quick to respond to emails. Everything was planned very well, the Rifugios were lovely and the transport to and from the trails were very comfortable and prompt. Esperienza fantastica: Mont Trekking planned an amazing 8-day trip for me and my friend through the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. Everything worked smoothly - the hiking itinerary, meals and lodging, and all that was needed to prepare for the trip. Mont Trekking provides detailed maps (both print and electronic) and written overviews of your daily hikes so that you feel safe and certain on what's to come. The refugios were wonderful - clean, with delicious food, and often run by families for decades. I can't recommend this specific hike through Adamello Brenta enough because of the amazing scenery. The mountains were breathtaking and we were stunned by the alpine lakes. I also want to note that the hike would be wonderful as a solo trip, which I was also considering but was unsure about prior to starting. Though a strenuous hike at times, it was well worth the challenge. Do not hesitate to book this!

Esperienza fantastica: MONT TREKKING SERVICE IS EXCEPTIONAL, Perfecto ! I initially would like to go for AV1 but I changed my mind and googled many places to hike, asked Mont trekking back and forth many times yet Mont Trekking never tired to help me ! Finally, I came up to self-hike on June 2024 3 days for AV1 , Tre Cime 1 day hike from Cortina and 3 days in Val Gardena and 1 day to Seceda from Ortisei. During hike, I missed last bus too and was lost in track due to communication problem but! Mont Trekking was always available and helped throughout journey :). I highly recommend Erica Domina from Mont Trekking. She is really a mountain person; she knows well my needs. Plus, the hotel chosen by Mont Trekking in Cortina and Ortisei was amazing ! A View of Dolomites from your balcony. I did lots of time lapsed and the result is insane.

Esperienza fantastica: We did four days, five nights at the north end of Alta Via 1. Martina at MONT Trekking was very easy to work with -- provided helpful preparation documents and fast responses to our questions. Hotel Regina and the three rifugios were all welcoming and interesting and slightly different. The trekking was challenging (due partly to some remaining snow) but also rewarding with amazing scenery. We felt like it was a good value.

Esperienza fantastica: Mont Trekking attended to every message quickly, even on the weekends. They made reservations for us at Rifugio’s that we could not have accessed on our own. At first we tried booking the lodging and shuttles for the Alta Via 1 on our own, without Mont Trekking, however the various times when Refugio’s would start taking reservations and the various ways they wanted payments created obstacles. Once Mont Trekking took over, all went smoothly. On the trail we met only 2 groups who had managed to book all their Refugio’s for the AV1 on their own. Neither of them had the information or the quality of Refugio’s that Mont Trekking provided us. There was a special situation that arose for my wife and she needed to leave the trail the day before the end of the trek. Mont Trekking took care of all the details for her to exit and arrive at our room in Belluno.

Esperienza fantastica: We did a 4 day/3 night trek consisting of about 30-miles in the Croda da Lago region of the Italian Dolomites. It was perfect. An amazing balance between adventure/activity and enjoying the comforts of the rifugios (huts) and great meals. Mont Trekking was AMAZING. They did all the planning and made the process easy and enjoyable. It took away the stress of trying to map a circuit then navigating time zones and language barriers to book rifugios. They provided all itineraries, maps, and other logistical aspects. They even went out of their way to help us plan and execute a day trip to Lago di Sorapis a couple days after our trek. I would highly recommend their services to anyone.

Esperienza fantastica: MONT planned a 4 day 3 night trek for our group of 5 on Alta Via 1. We LOVED the trip. MONT arranged our hotel the night before and after starting the trek with transportation to and from trail starting points. The information provided by the company was very useful (including the map - download the map they recommend! My Gaia GPS did not have accurate trail numbers, so we needed to use the map they provided). We loved the rifugios we stayed in. Warm showers, beds, 3 course dinner and breakfast. It was an amazing trip. Would definitely use MONT again.

Esperienza fantastica: I recently returned from my trek in the Dolomites and just had such an incredible experience. I was in awe of the beautiful views, warm hospitality and loved the adventure of the trek. I worked with Martina at MONT Trekking. I basically indicated to her that I was looking for about a week in the Dolomites and was fairly fit so am fine with elevation gain, etc. She put together the perfect itinerary which was the Seiser Alm to Rosengarten trek. I had plenty of time to get from place to place, and the rifugio accommodations were great. The maps and detailed itinerary/information that MONT Trekking provided were super useful as well as the information regarding transportation to get to the region. Martina was very responsive to any questions that I had. I would highly recommend working with MONT Trekking. I look forward to returning again.

Esperienza fantastica: Mont Trekking was great for our modified 5 day Dolomites trip on the AV1. They took care of booking all the huts for us and had great communication throughout. Hikes each day were challenging but were manageable, especially compared to itineraries from other hikers using other companies (they did 12 miles day 1 compared to our 7.5 miles). They assisted with finding buses or private transport to and from the hotels as well as renting trekking poles in Cortina. We would book a trip with them again!
