Esperienza fantastica: My wife, fourteen year old daughter, and I rented e-bikes from Anima Tocana for a week long ride around Tuscany. Anima helped us with the bikes, gave us GPS directions and updated our itinerary several times as circumstances changed, and were amazingly helpful. On the last day our route back to Siena was cut off by a automobile race, and they worked with us to find an alternate way back, and then to pick up the bikes at an off-hours location after our mistakes made getting back impossible. We are so grateful to them for making the vacation possible and so memorable. About seeing Tuscany by bike: it was an amazing experience which we want to do again. The road is really rough though, so we were glad that the e-bikes from Anima were tough. It also paid to be very prepared. The weather in November was wet and cold.

Everything was well arranged: three interesting gravel routes around the Siena countryside, a comfortable hotel, and smooth logistics throughout. The e-bikes provided were in very good condition—comfortable and well suited to the terrain. If you’re considering a cycling trip in Tuscany, I highly recommend Anima Toscana. It’s the perfect way to explore Siena and its surroundings on a bike. I’ll definitely be back!

Esperienza fantastica: Anima Toscana was very flexible and communicative when coordinating a gravel bike pickup and dropoff (Focus Atlas). There was a scheduling conflict when my travel was delayed that bumped me to the end of the delivery queue for the day, and they refunded me for the lost time with no hassle. The bike was in great shape, and the flat kit/frame/saddle/bar bags provided gave me plenty of options for getting from A to B with whatever I needed. No hesitations recommending a rental from this vendor and would use them again.

Esperienza fantastica: I've rented a bike for a perfect 6 days bike packing in Tuscany from Anima Toscana. Working with Michele and Emanuela was a real pleasure. Both are professional, reacted fast to all the question I had before the trip, including helping me to know whether my bike packing bags will fit their bike. ‏I got an almost new Focus Atlas 6.8 bikes, new tires, all needed equipment, and after almost 300 km, all went perfect. Michele even helped me with building the exact bike routes I needed according to my requirements, including modifying them as needed. I would recommend working with them without any hesitation.

We showed up with biking routes for two days but after asking for their suggestions they were quick to offer guidance and even helped us fully plan our route. Esperienza fantastica: Mom and I completed a 7d, 6 night drip with Anima in Tuscany. Emanuela made sure we were familiar with the bikes (we had never riden an e-bike before), had the routes downloaded for navigation with a phone mount for the bike (I found the Komoot app easy to use). We had no issues with check-in along the way or baggage transport. We were so lucky in Radda In Chianti, we got an upgraded room with a terrace. We loved the freedom to stop at wineries of our choosing along the way, many were very kind to let us taste without an APT given we were traveling by bike. Also, the final hotel in Florence, had such a kind staff and the perfect place to decompress after an epic adventure. Without hesitation I can recommend Anima to assist planning your next cycling adventure, you will be hard pressed to find another company at this price point to provide superior service. Esperienza fantastica: Recently finished the Montalcino and the Val d’Orcia region cycle tour and thoroughly enjoyed with my husband and adult kids. We chose e-bikes which you wouldn’t regret. The views are those from Tuscan photos, you can only appreciate when you see yourself. Our stay in Montalcino at hotel Giglio was a highlight. The accommodations and tour routes are wonderful. Esperienza fantastica: Super company to work with! We did a self directed gravel tour 5 day trip that started and ended in Siena. We rented their gravel bikes ( brought our own saddles and shoes and helmets) and we totally LOVED the bikes - geared very well for hill climbing! Michele sent us the routes for each day in GPX format so we could load them into garmin as well as another map app, and they were perfect. We saw so much beautiful country side - things we would have never seen if we weren't on gravel bikes! Michele was so quick to help us edit a few of the trips for different distances ( shortened a day twice) and resent new GPX right away! The hotels they booked for us were stunning ( we did upgrade the hotel package option and they were beautiful destinations!), our gear was always in our room when we arrived, safe bike lock ups, and lots of options for dinner out! Michele was so pleasant and quick for both bike drop off and pickup at the end - I would highly recommend this company for a bike tour of Tuscany - it was on our bucket list and really was a highlight of our Italy trip!! Esperienza fantastica: Our family of four traveled to Italy for a two week trip. We’re experienced cyclists and wanted to include a tour of Tuscany with no prior experience of the area. Anima Toscana planned a 6-night/5-day tour for us of about 35 miles and 3,000’ per day. We were blown away by the quality and charm of the hotels. The rides were absolutely stunning and on lower traffic roads for the most part. Our route was from San Quirico d’Orcia to Firenze. We loved Tuscany and the tour. They planned beautiful routes tailored to our needs with excellent road bikes, both e-bikes and regular. We loved the roads and routes they chose with plenty of things to do and see along the way. We went at our own pace and we did stop at most of their suggested places as well as things that interested us as we didn’t want to miss anything. Though Tuscany is amazingly beautiful, we really could not have had such a great time without their careful planning and attention to detail. They were helpful beyond measure and available to help us when we had a couple of our own mishaps.

Esperienza fantastica: Amazing experience for our family (mom, dad, and teenage boys)! Anima Toscana worked with us to build an itinerary that was perfect for our family. The eMTBs are great - they let you get in a good workout while giving you assistance when you want it. Communication and coordination on where to meet was easy and clear. Our tour guide Domenico was warm and knowledgable. The ride took us through beautiful country side in Chianti. In addition to a ~30km ride, we did a wine tasting and lunch that exceeded our expectations. I'd 100% do a eMTB tour with this company again.

The route selection was fantastic, luggage transfer was seamless and the team was super responsive on whats app and email for any questions/concerns we had. The gravel bikes we rented were in awesome shape and were the perfect bike for the challenging terrain in the area. Would highly recommend renting the proper gravel bikes as road tires wouldn't be able to handle some of the steep gravel sections. Accommodations were all very nice with comfortable rooms, beautiful pools and great service. These guys did a terrific job in setting up the perfect Tuscany bike adventure for our group and I'm sure they will do the same for you. Esperienza fantastica: Anima toscana was an excellent local bike company to work with. They rented us high quality gravel bikes from their store that fit us well. We had zero issues with the bikes on a long 9 day trip. Anima was very flexible with letting us pick up the bikes the night before as well as choose which bags we wanted to use along with our bikes. They were responsive and easy to work with, can’t recommend enough.

Esperienza fantastica: I just returned from 5 days of Gravel ride with CCC (City Cycling Club) in Tuscany. We were 25 riders from Israel who came for training camp. Amina Toscana arranged for us the whole package: Routs, Hotels, feed zones with water, isotonic drinks, fruits and snacks. the package included also airport pickup and return and baggage transfer from one hotel to the other. What can I say, it was not less than PERFECT. We rode 80-90 km a day with more of 1,600 meters climbs in all the best routs that Toscana can offer. AND, above all was Michele who was virtually everywhere, always on time, always with big smile. Thank you Amina, thank you Michele.

Esperienza fantastica: Fantastischer Service! Ich konnte hier am Sonntag spontan ein Touring-Rad leihen, nachdem das Schaltauge meines eigentlichen Rads beim Tuscany Trail gebrochen war. Mir wurde auch sehr hilfsbereit unter die Arme gegriffen, als ich 3 Tage später mein dort abgestelltes Rad repariert hatte und weitergefahren bin! Sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit!

Esperienza fantastica: We had an amazing 6 day tour of Tuscany organized by Michele and team from Florence and surroundings. I compliment his team, his organization and care. We had a wonderful unsupported ride (e.g. no active guide) but we all felt very supported throughout. All but myself booked bike rentals through his organization. The rentals were a combo of electric and carbon road bikes. All were immaculate and the road bikes were premium quality. I brought my travel bike and had a mechanical which required a detour to Siena cycle. Michele transported me to the shop, ensured my repair was done and provided an alternate route, so we could catch up with the group. Our luggage arrived safely and carefully at each stop. The routes involved maximum tourists sites and minimal traffic. The gpx files were supplemented by printouts and recommendations for lunch, etc. along the way. I would feel very comfortable and secure booking a tour with Anima Toscana. You will enjoy yourself!

At the end of January, I rented an electric-assist bicycle in Siena and rode it to the Abbey of San Galgano. The preparation and rental process for the trip was very easy. However, I ran into trouble on the way back. Google Maps gave me the wrong route, which led me to a small mountain path where I got stuck (the return route was different, and I was trying to take a paved road to get back earlier to return the bike). In the end, I had poor phone signal in the mountains, it started raining, and I had to spend 70 euros to get back by car with the help of the shop owner. I think the service and equipment at this shop were excellent and well worth the price. The scenery around Siena is definitely worth exploring by bike, and the electric assist—powered by a Bosch system—saved me a lot of energy on the uphill parts, especially since I can’t rent a car myself.

Esperienza fantastica: We extended the Eroica route into a 8-day ride, adding 2 rest days along the way. We were very satisfied in every respect. The bikes were well-maintained. Repair service – we needed to replace an inner tube on each bike once. Michele came to the hotel and quickly fixed everything. The Garmin route files were very accurate. The additional maps and elevation profiles were also very accurate and helpful. We received a briefing the evening before departure – it is recommended to write everything down. The recommendations were very useful, especially regarding places to refill water, restaurants, and bars. As for the views – Michele is probably not responsible for them… but the route is so well-planned that we got to see stunning Tuscan landscapes in all their variety. Michele responded immediately to every question and was available for any request.

Esperienza fantastica: A great way to experience Tuscany. Very enjoyable self guided tour around Tuscany. Correspondence with Michele was excellent, all questions and queries answered quickly. Bikes were almost new and were excellent for the tour, no problem with climbing any of the hills on the tour. Hotels were very comfortable and well chosen and breakfasts at each were a wonderful start to the day. Bike fit and instructions from Luca on day one set us up well for the six days that followed. Riding with GPS app worked well for the majority of the time and we found it was essential when navigating the many tiny streets in some of the towns. One suggestion - try to avoid any national holidays, eg May 1, as the roads carried a lot of traffic. Overall, we found the tour to be a great way to experience the Tuscan countryside, some of the towns and the people who live there. We would certainly recommend the tour to others interested in a self-guided tour of Tuscany and UNESCO sites. We are 65 and 70 years old.

Esperienza fantastica: Amazing bike rental + lifesaving local help! I had the best experience renting an e-bike here during my stay in Pienza. The owner was incredibly kind, helpful, and went truly above and beyond. Not only was the e-bike perfect for exploring the rolling hills of Val d’Orcia but when I realized there were no buses running to Buonconvento, the owner personally offered to drive me to the train station with readonable service fee so I wouldn’t miss my connection. That kind of hospitality is rare and unforgettable. This is much more than a bike rental shop — it’s the kind of place where you feel cared for like a friend. Highly recommended for anyone exploring Tuscany without a car. Grazie mille!

Even during the tour we asked to tweak a little bit and no problem what so ever to make those changes. Great service and perfect accommodation choices throughout. They have good knowledge of the area and give great recommendations where to stop for coffee or supplies and even for great views. Had a great time and would definitely do it again.

Esperienza fantastica: Rented a bike for just an afternoon. All very easy to sort out and collect the bike. Helpfully they let me leave my bag safe in the office. Within minutes I was on some of the most scenic roads I've been on and spent a great few hours in the tuscan countryside.

We decided the night before that we wanted to try riding so we just showed up to the anima office in the morning with no pre booked tour, just a walk in. They were incredibly accommodating, gearing us up with gravel bikes, helmets and phone holders for the day, along with a gpx file of a route they recommended based on the mileage/time we said we wanted to cover. The route took us through the Chianti region and was amazing, beautiful views, a lunch spot right around the halfway point and a thoughtful choice of rural roads and gravel roads that made for a great day in the saddle. It was very easy to navigate using the gpx route provided. The bikes were well maintained and had modern and tuned components. All for a great price. I am looking forward to come back to Tuscany to do a longer tour with them.

Esperienza fantastica: Tour guided ride on a gravel bike with Michele to cycle some beautiful roads around the Siena area, including a small segment of the Strade Bianche. Beautiful roads, and panaromic views of the Tuscan hills as a lot of the riding was on a ridgeline, where you could see for miles with the skyline of the old town of Siena often in your eyeline. Good rolling hills and a great tour guide. Recommended.

Esperienza fantastica: Anima Toscana was the only bike group willing to create a custom ride for our group. They were easy to communicate with and well organized. Our ride was a major highlight of our trip to Italy, Michele and Luca took us through beautiful scenery, pushed us up some challenging hills, and led us to a lovely cafe for a mid-ride espresso. They spoke great English (which was great because our Italian is very minimal) and the support van was always there when we needed a water refill. I highly recommend Anima Toscana if you want to see the Tuscan country by bike!

Esperienza fantastica: I rented a gravel bike from them and everything about the process was perfect. They were the most responsive and made sure that I was getting a bike compatible with the riding I was looking to do (pretty heavy gravel sectionsel). helped me get my pedals and garmin mount securely on the bike once I arrived. And they even gave me a route suggestion for the first time I was riding, which was very helpful and I wasn't sure exactly where I should be going. And returning the bike was a breeze too. They were kind and nice and helpful. And the gravel bike was set up great to allow for handing the white roads. The 45mm tires were perfect for making the bumpier sections better to deal with, and the easier gearing (46-30 and 11-34) was ideal for the steep portions of some of the gravel sectors (because you can't really get out of the saddle for those efforts, for fear of losing traction). I had never ridden much gravel before, but I didn't feel limited at all by the bike. So, I was a little unsure about a standalone rental, given that it is a bike tour company, but I had no issues at all only doing a rental, and it was exactly what I needed. Highly recommend.

Esperienza positiva: We had a lovely ride through the countryside of Siena! Our guide was very friendly. The roads are narrow so be prepared for that as cars get very close and there are not a lot of rest stops so make sure everyone in your group is ready to ride! The stop at the winery is beautiful!

Desde de o início, no envio da proposta, no esclarecimento de dúvidas, no suporte quando precisei e principalmente na viagem incrível que eles planejaram para a gente pela Toscana. Fizemos o passei sem guia, era nossa primeira vez em um passeio assim fora do Brasil, então estávamos um pouco preocupado se daria certo... E deu SUPER certo. Eles explicam as rotas no primeiro destino, dão dicas de paradas, avisam onde teremos trechos maiores sem nenhum apoio/parada. Foi realmente uma viagem fantástica e graças a Anima! Indico de olhos fechados! Todo o trajeto é pensado para passar por vistas deslumbrantes e pelo meio dos vilarejos, é lindo!

Esperienza fantastica: We were visiting Montalcino from Canada. We had an excellent experience with Michele and Emmanuela from Anima Toscana. They delivered the bikes to our rather remote villa, at the end of a rough road and not easy to find! They delivered all the bikes and accessories exactly as we had ordered. They were available via WhatsApp to suggest cycling routes during our stay. And when we caused some accidental damages to the bikes by crashing, etc., they were extremely professional and friendly in resolving things in a fair manner. We will definitely rent bikes from Anima Toscana again the next time we are visiting the region! Highly recommended.

Esperienza fantastica: If you are looking for a cycling tour through Tuscany - this is the one! I did this tour with two of my girlfriends - we did the self-guided Tuscany bike tour. I worked with Michele and his team to organize the tour. It was so easy to work with them and they were so quick to answer any questions we had before arriving. First off, WOW. The tour that Michele and his team set up is just stunning. They did such a good job organizing beautiful bike routes taking you up and over the hills of Tuscany and through all the amazing villages and towns along the way. The accommodation was fantastic throughout the entire route. I just only have positive things to say. I will never forget this experience! It was magical. Note that we did not use ebikes and it was definitely tough. If you are not an experienced elevation biker, definitely get the ebike. You won't regret booking this tour - highly recommend!

Esperienza fantastica: I highly recommend renting bikes or signing up for a tour with anima toscana. They are cyclists who enjoy sharing cycling with others. We rented two bikes for two days. Both were well-tuned and new and ran beautifully as we explored Tuscany’s hills and famous white gravel roads. Michele fit the bikes to us perfectly, offered us GPX routes, and even drove ten miles out of town to help us with a flat. Anima Toscana is low key, unpretentious, easy to work with, and dedicated to helping cyclist enjoy the incomparable beauty of Toscana. Highly recommend.

Esperienza fantastica: I was in charge of securing bikes and guide information for a group of us from Boulder Colorado as the focal point for our trip to Tuscany (a villa outside Siena). We were given a pointer to Anima Toscana and its proprietor, Michele Mondet. What great advice! Anima Toscana supports a very useful and informative web page and Michele and his team are very responsive and helpful with order and payment details. But that is just the beginning. Michele and his team are clearly experienced cyclists. They maintain excellent bicycles and provide wonderful guide information, both in person (we did two rides this way) and for self-guided rides (we did three of these). Our order included 7 gravel bikes and 2 e-mountain bikes. The machines we received were in excellent condition and Michele and Luca were adept at minor adjustments and advice on use. The guided rides will be remembered by all of us! The routes were challenging but perfectly designed to match the skills of the group. The rest stops (coffee and lunch) were also memorable. Michele accommodated our schedule by delivering and retrieving bikes, delivering and retrieving riders, and leading our rides exactly as he promised. I could not recommend Anima Toscana more highly and if I am ever fortunate enough to return to the Tuscan gravel routes, Michele and team will be my first call! Grazie mille Anima Toscana!!

Esperienza fantastica: My husband and I had an amazing day!! We did a 35-mile ride with our guide, Claudio, through the Chianti region on road bikes. As bikers from Iowa, we knew the hills would be tough, but with the beautiful scenery, it was well worth it! Anima Toscana provided us with great bikes that road smoothly and helped us through the hilly terrain. It was a great way to get away from the city, and we will never forget it!

Esperienza negativa: For us it was a disappointing experience. Although we confirmed the bike reservation via email, they were given to other people. I think it was a normal human error by misreading my email but no excuse or alternative was offered and we were 'blamed' for not confirming. We then had to find a different bike provider and rented ebikes not far from here. To react to the response below: thank you. I think there was a language barrier. We never received info that the office is closed on Sunday nor that payment in advance is needed. What we did receive were time frames where we can pick up the bikes and after we asked if it can be 30 minutes later it was said that the office has other services to do. I confirmed the bikes on 2nd May, but maybe this was misread. Again I think we probably misunderstood eachother.

Esperienza fantastica: Michele provided my group of 5 with great gravel bikes and all the support we needed to do the Estrade Bianche Gran Fondo. They took care of registering us to the event, the hotel, the bikes and were very helpful reviewing some routes we had for the previous riding days. Really an incredible service from him!! They are convenient located just 2 blocks from the hotel and near the train station. Really kind, easy to communicate and knowledgeable about the riding spots in Siena, Chianti and surroundings. When back to the area, I’m for sure using their services again. 100% recommended.

Esperienza fantastica: Great agency to rent a bike, despite the really busy time during the Strade Bianche! The gravel bike was really nice, totally adapted for the race. They even rented me for free a cycling bottle, a lock and even a helmet. Highly recommended!

Esperienza fantastica: We got in touch with Anima Toscana Bike Tours to organize a group stay in Siena for Strade Bianche bike event in March 2024. Very happy with how everything went. After emailing back and forth twice, pretty much everything was settled, we got our event enlisting and a good start slot placement, even though we only confirmed in October. The hotel they arranged was nice, right in the middle of Siena, right next to the beautiful old town pedestrian area and also right next to the start of Strade Bianche. Very happy with the experience. If we come back to Strade Bianche, we'll do it the exact same way again, through Anima Toscana. Thanks, the team of Gruppo Sportivo Wüthrich :)

Esperienza fantastica: Fantastic 3 day bike trip!! Michele was very helpful throughout the process. E-bikes were really high quality (I googled them, and they retail for ~$2500+). I recommend asking for saddle bags, so you have storage space. Also recommend e-bikes unless you’re a pro biker — it is very hilly, but e-bikes make it as easy or difficult as you’d like… just turn down/off the battery assistance if you want more of a challenge, One bike did break approx. 1 hour into Day 1 (the chain snapped on a really steep hill), but help arrived within 20 minutes with a new chain — we grabbed a cappuccino, and the bike was fixed by the time we were done. Our luggage was picked up each morning around 9am and transported to the next location. Accommodations were perfect. You can upgrade to nicer hotels (4 or 5 star) if you prefer, but we found the default 3 star hotels to be great - much nicer than what you’d get in the US. Michele provided a GPX file for us to load into any app on our phone. He also met with us when dropping off the bikes, and provided paper copies of the itinerary in case our phones died (they didn’t… you definitely should bring battery packs!).
